You could make a sun by coloring a sphere yellow. Be careful how you apply lighting, or it won't look like the sun. See Figures 7, 8, and 9 at http://www.dickbaldwin.com/alice/Alice0200.htm for some information on lighting. Maybe you could shine a spotlight directly on a yellow sphere and eliminate the shading.

I seem to remember that there is a flag somewhere in the gallery. Maybe you could make it flutter to make it look like it is being blown by the wind.
