FAMAS is French for Fusil d'Assaut de la Manufacture d'Armes de Saint-Étienne or Assault rifle of the Saint-Étienne weapon factory

Also, to keep the edit time unchanged, I'll put my question responses in here.

You got them all right but the last two. He was captured and detained, but he was actually let go, but his horse was confiscated, leaving him to run on foot through the streets shouting like a heroic imbecile.

Also, he shouted "The regulars are coming," since they were regular army troops.

Points go to me for answering!
