Default Importing Object or Adding Group - 09-02-2006, 01:57 PM

Is there some way to import an object or add a group to the Object Tree at other than the top level (i.e., directly under world)?

I'm not sure if I understand your question completely, however if you add an Object to your world and then go to the Object Tree Pane you can left-click on it and drag it to a position immediately below the WORLD object. The object will now appear above the CAMERA, LIGHT and BACKGROUND objects.

I don't know of anyway to place an object above the WORLD object, however. I view the WORLD object as similar in nature to Java's Object Class.

Hopefully this answers your question? Good luck.

What I want to do is place objects and/or groups at two levels. As an example, I've changed some of the textures on a characters parts. What I was trying to do was to make two groups of the subparts - one for those with new skins and one for those with the original skins (or textures, if you prefer - but in this case I'd actually modified the artwork).

As near as I can see, groups and imported objects can only go on the first level under world and I wanted to verify this was correct.
