Default Tutorial Template Question - 05-06-2012, 11:09 AM

My son is 9 years old and had no interest in working with the ice skater tutorial template. The ice skater quickly caused him to lose interest in learning 3D development with Alice. Are there any other templates available that feature a soldier etc. that may be of more interest to 9 year old boys?

The airplane example world might be more interesting to him.

And you could try downloading some of the games on the forums as an example for him. Plenty of those to be found in the Share Worlds forums.

I agree with X. There are multiple games in the community that he would like. I personally recommend the simple yet very fun "Dodge Ball" series. They are all good but I believe the third one is the best. I review games myself so if you go here: http://alice.org/community/showthrea...e+games+review, you can see a list of the best games in the forums. My Halo game requires a powerful computer so I don't recommend that unless your computer is very powerful. X2495iiii above has a game called "Resident Penguin" which is highly recommended. If your ok with the shooter games and your son likes shooters, then I have a game called "Hero's Mission 1 - Remastered." Dodge ball is my first recommendation.

Thank you both.

Now that I am learning the application myself I found several good examples under Downloads Object Gallery Sci Fi that may interest him.

I will also look at the Dodge Ball and Resident Penguin games.
