Need Help with Laptop

I am going to need a laptop for Alice and I found a list of very good laptops at
triobest.com/best-laptop-for-programming-and-coding-for-developers. As good as they are...they are SOOOOO expensive! I have a budget of only 500 bucks MAX. Any suggestions?? Please help

If you become a guru you might need some monster machine but for Alice you can use almost anything that is not a chrome book or netbook.
It can be a mac or MacBook (not iPhone, iPad, etc), Windows ( the docs say XP - 8) but it will probably run on 10 as well, and Linux.
I've use Alice on two Debian Linux machines. One is a 64 bit CPU and the other is an old 32 bit laptop.

Acer Aspire E15 is under 600 bucks, it's not so expensive.
