Importing 3D models

Hi,
I've tried to import several 3D models into Alice 3, from various sources. All of them failed to import.
Is there any guide as to how to "tweak" the models so they can import properly? A log file to see the errors?
I've attached an example - a model of an astronaut I downloaded directly from the 3D warehouse (already in dae format so no conversion was necessary). Also, is there a library of imported models I can use?
