Ok. First of all, every other game that looks like Minecraft is a ripoff. None of them lead up to excitment of Minecraft. To many people copy it and don't bother paying for those cheap games. Minecraft has multiplayer, survival, creative, and so many features to the main game that will keep engaged for Months. It's super easy to run, and the creativity is never ending. Minecraft is worth the money, only if your willing to spend lots and lots of time playing. Yes, you can play minecraft without going to their website. The website version isn't even minecraft, it's so old and outdated. Please don't compare that to the final version. The final version comes with an .exe file that you can run the game from. It even has a 3D mode which actually works but can hurt your eyes after a whlie.

I challenge you to let it keep you occupied for six years. That's the longest I have ever let a single game—Warcraft III—occupy me. Until I got banned for maphacking (I got bored after five years)

Minecraft got boring after a couple of months for me. It was much more fun in alpha when the level generation was more creative and not entirely flat. The grass not looks depressing and so do the tree's. And you can't build "anything" I have a hard time creating anything on multiplayer. Thats why I bought blockland.

I liked terraria more, but then terraria got weird, so now I don't play either of them.

Yes, you can, you can even play offline: Just download the launcher once you bought the game.
