Default Black box around fire - 10-11-2011, 03:06 AM

Every 2D object has a black box around it, like the fire and the candle. I can't figure out how to get it transparent.

I understand about alpha channels and transparent PNGs but I can't find how to turn it on for these images in Alice! It seems like it should be on by default.

That shouldn't be happening.

Try changing the rendering engine in the Preferences menu. I've had the most success with DX7.

For rendering all I have is JOGL and Java3D, neither are fixing the problem.

I added a screen shot.

This is on Alice 2.2 for MacOSX

Alice was ported for the Mac from Windows, so many features are lacking.

I'm pretty sure it's like that on every Mac version of Alice. Perhaps the image that's used for the texture of the flame isn't transparent like it should be.

I have been dead for quite some time now; not much hope for resurrection.

Dang that sucks, I'll check to see if the problem persists at school where we use Windows 7. For some reason I thought it happened there too.

I really wanted to use the effects.
