Hi again, my apologies, had to be offline the last couple of days. JRR's advice worked like a charm; many thanks! Unhid my file extensions, deleted the .txt from the download, and the installer runs perfectly.

I'm still gonna have to hold off for a bit for reasons unrelated to Alice. I'm on satellite internet which limits my downloadable data to a good bit less than it's wanting to install; I'll have to wait till my free download period at 2AM to do this or they'll lock me down for 24 hours. Will report back after this is done, but for now, the installer appears to be working! At least, it's clearly and installer and not a pile of notepad rubbish.

Oh, and it's Alice 3 I'm trying to download, in response to the question above.

Glad I could be of assistance! Good luck and I hope you enjoy using Alice! I hope to hear from you again soon. Also, if it still doesn't install properly, you can probably get Alice v.2 working, unless you're using it in a class.
