I've been looking at other space games, and decided to try making another game.

Version 1

This is the "engine" for the game. It has:

-An upgrade system! The first upgrade increases your speed! Subsequent upgrades increase your firepower!

-Flipping! Press Enter to turn the ship to the front or back! Now you shoot at enemies behind you!

-A day-to-night cycle! (Granted, one of my other games has this, but I'm bringing it back) A muzzle flash has also been added!

-Death Animation (not complete)
-Transitions between the Infinite Ocean and the Planet Surface
-The Force Sword!
-The Force Sword drains energy from your force supply!
-Force recharges when you are not firing your weapons
-Improved Day/Night Cycle
-Some HUD Elements (Stock counter non-functional)
-Waves appear when you are close to the ground/water

Version 3

-Working Number Counters

-Lives and Credits System
-Instead of a health points system, like my other game, you will
die in one hit. However, you instead will have many lives as well
as continues

-Urchin Force Added!
-Incomplete. Urchin cannot be killed, but it can hurt you.

-Brief period of Invincibility after dying

Controls
Arrow keys = move
Space bar = shoot
Enter = Flip
1 = upgrade the ship

Controls Added in Version 2!
A = Death Animation test
B = Transition
Hold Space for Force Sword

Try it now! What do you think I should add to this? (as in features, enemies, etc)

I like how the upgraded ship turns, I like the ability to turn, I think the dark is too dark and I preferred water as the ground.

I think the night might still be too dark, though...

I have added more things to the game!

Urchin Force returns! I'm planning for it to have different attacks this time...
The lives and credits system is mostly complete too!

For some reason, the game lags when I shoot Urchin Force. I'm not sure how to fix this.

Can someone help?

I think I'll try making this game again. But because of the "engine's" lag issue, I'm going to try making this again. Also, I'll be making the enemies first, instead of making the features first (probably the most logical thing to do anyway )
