i am new to the whole alice thing and i want to know how to attach objects to each other

Go to http://www.dickbaldwin.com/alice/Alice0900.htm and search for the word vehicle, or go to Google and search for the following keywords:

Try This... first get the main object (The Object tha holds everything)
Than get the sub-objects (the objects you want attached) than set the vehicle properties of the sub objects to say (sub-object set vehicle to main Object
