Talking Help Me Reach My Goal Of 5,000 Posts On The Alice Forums Before The End Of 2011! - 03-06-2011, 09:56 PM

Hello Alice Community! Some of you may know that I am creating a goal for myself that beating will be very hard to do. My goal? My goal is to make 5,000 posts on the Alice Community Forums before 12:00 AM on January 1, 2012! This post marks my 375th post on the Alice Forums, but at the average speed at which I have been posting, I am not sure that I will be successful. I am asking for you help as I take on this task. My sub-goal is to get 1,000 posts on the forums before April 30th. I will work hard to get past my goal, but doing so will be very hard. Much help is appreciated. How can you help? I really am not sure, but anything that you think will be helpful is much appreciated. If I can make 5,000 posts before January 1, 2012, I will make myself the ultimate avatar! Wish me luck!

Where I Am: 375
Where I Want To Be: 5,000

Well this is impossible and hugely over ambitious.

All figures were correct at time of calculation:

299 days left till end of year.
408 posts as current.
5000 posts target.
4592 posts left.
15.36 average posts per day needed.
4.97 current average posts per day.
309% efficiency needed.

Good luck.

I have mostly moved on from Alice, but may still respond to messages if important [¬º-°]¬

I knew when I started this that is was highly unlikely. At minimum, I will probably only make it to 1,000.

Why do you care about the number of posts you have?

I'm a web developer/ designer now.

I don't think this is a good goal to have. A high post count just means mindless spam and doesn't do anything to improve the quality of the forums.

jediaction's been a member for over a year and a half and has 3,000-some posts. 5,000 in a year? According to arty's calculations, 15 posts per day? Not likely. jedi's average is 5.21 posts per day. (I'm using you as an example because you seem to be the forum's most avid poster btw congrats on REACHing 3,000 )

Now, if you can get 10+ helpful posts every day, that would be something to be proud of. 5,000 worthless posts don't mean much.

Anyway, I'm glad to see that you're trying to become an active member, so don't get discouraged, but just keep in mind that high post count doesn't necessarily mean good.
=)

I have been dead for quite some time now; not much hope for resurrection.

Yes, just make sure that all 5000 of those 5000 posts are of good quality. Not rubbish.
