I've actually seen a large thread at another forum site I go to about this, although I never paid much attention to it . Some of the stuff I've seen people get are pretty neat as well.

No, though there are ads just before each video you watch, but it's one ad per video, not a hideous jumble of them. That's part of how they get their money. The other part is yet to come. Since Lockerz is only just starting, it's big moneymaking parts haven't launched yet. It plans on opening markets which you can buy stuff from with real money or using your points. But first it wants to build a large social group so it will have more potential customers, and to do that, it's made arrangements with places like Sony and Apple for merchandise they can offer for joining and being active on Lockerz. So, the plan is to get you to buy stuff from them after you've seen some of the cool stuff they have to offer, but for the time being, you don't have to (and couldn't even if you wanted to) buy anything, just earn points and wait to redeem them.

Haven't redeemed them yet. This month's redemption is a contest between the users in the US and the users from the rest of the world to see who can earn the most points by march 25th. So, if team USA wins, I'll redeem for a PSP bundle and lets you know in 2 weeks if I get it.
