Default Billboards.. - 05-19-2009, 04:29 PM

You have to create a billboard in MS paint or Gimp or some other imaging software, and save it as a .jpg for best results. Then you have to click on the file menu at the top left of the alice interface and choose make billboard. Then browse your computer and find the file you saved as your title screen and and click import. That will place the screen in your alice world. Of course you can choose just about any file format you want. If there are not a lot of colors, you could use gif. Anyway the point is to watch you file size. Don't make it too big.

Hope that helps..

Freshmeat is right.

And a good way to position your billboard is to move it relitative to the camera. This will allow you to have it centered and not tilted.

Steps after importing:

Adjust the Billbord to the position you want, using "orient to face" You may want to go to the "add objects" menu to resize the picture for the best fit.

Now Under the properties tab of your billboard find vehicle

Set vehicle to camera.

When your done with the billboard just select "is Showing" = false

If you have access to Powerpoint, you can make an entire series of slides to use for your project.

Save the powerpoint in case you have to edit it later.

Now do a save as, and select jpeg as the file type option. This gives you the option of saving each slide as a jpeg file, each of which can then be imported into your project.
