Hey guys,

I am a dual enrollment student, at Carteret Community College, and for
Intro to Programming and logic, we used ALICE 2.2. Well, I took my final project
and bumped it up a little bit graphically, and decided to post it here for you
guys to take a look at. Its an "Operating System". Merely the desktop... it is
Version 1.2 and seems run without any serious bugs. The Lack of serious
features is annoying, but it would take me months to program them in.

If you feel that this is a worthy project to continue, or have some constructive criticism,
leave a post down below, and I will (hopefully) get back to you ASAP.

Interesting. Did you gather the programs used in your world from the Alice community? That looks like Dameria's Clock and Calculator, zone's Read/Write method, and Jedi's Alice 7 programs. Just curious if those programs are what inspired you.

Hey, you should add a terminal to your OS. Like a dos prompt on windows. It can be done!

Those programs were not my general inspiration... the clock I coded from scratch as a project our instructor had us do, with some minor tweaks. I did download someones calculator, and take a look at the code, but It didnt really look compatible with my setup, so I decided to reverse engineer my own. The Read/Write program was the first program I wrote for AliceOS, (Originally called Abuntu), and I created that as an experiment. I didnt know someone else had coded one. And I've never heard of that particular project (Alice 7), and dont know what it is. Can you tell me what it does?

@ Zonedabone: That is sorta what I tried to do with Command Prompt... but it was just a shortcut access program in case you accidently dragged a shortcut off the screen. But Yes, it could be done.

Alice 7 was jedi's little project that mimicked a basic desktop, somewhat similar to your, but with much fewer features. It's impressive that you coded most of it yourself, though. Good job!

Thank you very much! If you feel it is worthy enough, I will continue modifying the OS, and make it even more accurate and feature-filled.

Your desktop icons now have a problem due to them being moved with the built in function, you can make them go crazy be doing this:
