Try this

do together
set opacity of <object to disappear> to 0
set opacity of <object to disappear>.<subpart> to 1

So if all I wanted was the head of Anubis (Egypt Gallery)
do together
set opacity of anubis to 0.0
set opacity of anubis.upperbody.head to 1.0
