I'm running Windows Vista 32-bit and encountered the no-launch problem first off. I have tried the "Compatibility " fix, but have only Win XP SP2 to select from other than even older Windows versions. Alice still will not get past the splash screen (Alice 2.2 2/10/2011) and "Loading..."

Every attempt generates a error log text file, stating that the JRE has encountered a problem. This is the header text of one of these logs:

# An unexpected error has been detected by Java Runtime Environment:
# EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x752206ee, pid=7276, tid=7728
# Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (1.6.0_01-b06 mixed mode)
# Problematic frame:
# C [SHLWAPI.dll+0x206ee]
# If you would like to submit a bug report, please visit:
The numerical equates to "pid" and "tid" change with each log, but otherwise the headers are identical in 7 launch attempts. I also tried setting compatibility option "Run as administrator" but with no more success. Attempting to launch "SlowAndSteadyAlice.exe" from the same distribution produces the same result.

If helpful I can publish the entire error log(s) text here, or zip it up and send it to the right folks if someone can point me in that direction.

EDIT: Alice2.0 launches fine!
