Question Unable to load world (my final!) - 10-22-2008, 05:32 PM

Please Help!
I was working on my final on Alice, and I finished it. I ran the debugger and my program worked lovely. So I saved and closed. Then, about 5 minutes later, I tried to open it and to no avail. I've tried to open it many different ways but it just won't load it. My error code is below. A response would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks!
P.S. the file size is 5.12MB

Hmmmm - that's the second time I've seen that error posted in this forum:

Gabe, can you help us out here?
Thanks,

i'm having this problem also. did a project for school and it would not open in class the day it was due. I did it entirely on the computer in class and it worked fine then but now it wont open which is weird and annoying as hell. It wont open at school or at home. Same exact error as OP and i still need this fixed. HELP! PLZ

I've had this exact issue too, only I was supposed to be presenting it in front of 20 people... it went from a click event on a single object not working to the file just not opening in Alice. Very embarrassing and as a result of our experience, the course has been changed so we don't present Alice programs any more!

The only thing we could think of is that different platform versions of Alice cause some sort of corruption in larger files (ours was 11.2MB or so). I use OS X but the file was created with Alice running Windows XP.

I'm not asking for help by the way as our project has been and gone; luckily we weren't marked down for it as we provided a complete program listing so we could prove we had some good, working code.

Speak to your professors, show them this thread - it's a common issue!
