That is messed up. Do you have java installed(Mostly a dumb question because almost all cpu's have Java) Secednly try redownloading alice.

That version of Alice is fairly old and (probably) wasn't tested much, so compatibility may vary from distro to distro, although I may be wrong.

I've tried re-downloading Alice about three times now, so that isn't the problem. This Linux box has to use OpenJDK, so I don't know if that might be causing it. I'll try to find where the java executable is on my system.

We tried using 2.2 in my Alice class a year ago and it kept crashing, so I haven't used it since. I looked at Alice 3 but I didn't like the layout, but I've always wanted to get Alice working on my Linux box.

2.2 has gotten a lot more stable since; I was actually on the verge of just leaving it and saying forget it at that point in time. I haven't really tried getting Alice to work with Linux since I've always used Python when programming on a Linux machine, so I wouldn't know much about this :S.

This is the type of Java my computer uses:

/usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.6.0-openjdk.x86_64

Has Alice ever been tested with OpenJDK?

Is Alice 2.0.0 compatible with 64-bit?
