Need some proximity help. -

I am trying to make a game in alice where a penguin has to move across tiles that are floating on the ocean. If the penguin goes off any of the tiles I want the penguin to go down and "drown" in the ocean. How can I do this? I tried numerous ways but they all have many flaws to it...
