Question Is it possible to use spanish characters in Alice? - 03-15-2010, 04:31 PM

I've recently been working on a project for my Spanish class and I decided to do an Alice program. Everything has to be done in the Spanish language, but there is a problem with that. When I copy and paste a Spanish word that has a character that isn't from the English language into a dialogue box, that letter is replaced by a random symbol. So is it possible to use Spanish characters in Alice without having this happen? I'm using version 2.2 of Alice for this project, just mentioning this in case it has to do with the problem.

Firstly, apologies for the time it’s taken us to prepare the release of Rebeca, the internationalised and Spanish version of the original Alice
There have been many requests from people asking to try Rebeca out and we apologise for not having been able to reply to all of these email requests as we would have liked to.

We’ve created a webpage through Google Code which gives instructions on how to use Rebeca, gives the opportunity to try it out and can also be used as an exchange of ideas by its future community. We’re hoping the new webpage will open the doors to all who wish to take part in the project.

We can only thank all those who have shown interest in Rebeca & Alice and we hope that you will go on to enjoy using it as much as we have in making it.

Thank you for your time and attention,

Rebeca Team.

OK, so I went to the google link and downloaded rebeca.source.v2.2.zip. I extracted the zipped file. Now how do I make it run? Did I download the wrong thing? Thanks

I am saddened at how Rebeca is easier to look at.

Question About Rebbeca: Does it support a2w./a2c. files? Or does it have its own file type?

I would assume that it has the same file format, because reprogramming the logic would be a crazy undertaking. If anything, the files are just renames to a different extension, and are fully compatible.

'Apple Macintosh' - An anagram of 'Complaints Heap'

You're *such* a mac person.
