Why won't Alice work on my new macbook pro?

Hey, I have been trying to download this Alice Program on my macbook pro, but when I download it, it didn't work. I think that I downloaded 2.0, but i'm not sure. I deleted it, but haven't tried to download 2.2 yet. I'm afriad to download 3.0 beta, bacause beta often has too many problems. I should probably try to download 2.2, but I just wanted to know why it did not work on my macbook.

Well, mabey you download the wrong version.

1: Redownload "2.2"
2: Make sure its Mac Version
3: Open it up in the same directory that you installed it in
