How to make Alice do something when a number key is pressed

I have a project for a class to make a game, now I'm trying to make it to where if I press a number key the camera will go to first person point of view, and I'm going to have 4 characters to chose from. But once you chose a character by pressing a number key the other characters will sink into the ground. So far I've been able to make it so that once one goes down the rest will follow. But I don't know if I did it correctly. If anyone knows how to help me finish the rest or how to do it all, please tell me how to. Much appreciated.

Could you post the world, please? I can't tell you how to fix the problem if I don't know what you're not doing.
