How to Separate Keys

I'm trying to create an interactive world in Alice 2.0 (like a choose-your-own adventure), and I want the user to be able to press one certain key in order to move on (like if a character comes to a decision-making point, I want the user to be able to choose 1, 2, 3, or 4 every time without the previous choices coming back. How do I differentiate the events so that the keys correspond to one thing at a time without using a billion different keys or clicking?
