Cool! I was actually thinking of doing this myself, but haven't started it. Once you make your first prototype I will definitely look it over and see if I can expand on it. I can solve a Rubik's Cube, so I will see if I can solve it on Alice, can't wait.

I've been trying to import a good model, but it just doesn't work. I think I'll use a rubiks cube without animation. Jut have the sides change color and have an array change.

I actually tried this back on Alice 2.0 but the general controls didn't work (I tried to make the mouse control it all), I hope you have better luck than what I had .

Well what I was thinking is just using individual cubes for each of the cubes, and then adding 2d squares on each cube as a sticker. Then you can program it so that when you click on one of the stickers and move down, it puts all of the cubes within that side into a vehicle of the cube of the sticker you clicked on, and then turns it downward moving all of the cubes in that row.

Is it alright if after February Vacation I try to make my own version of it?

If you mean, have I solved a Rubik's Cube before, then yes. I have probably done it a thousand times by now. Now I want to create, or see someone else create, an Alice program that lets you solve one.

I would like to make this as well and started. Here is what i have with comments included to help someone understand my code, anyone can use and build off this if they want. i am a bit to busy to spend a ton of time on this. edit: to clarify, the only working move for the whole cube is to click the center area of the front where the middle cube would be and clicking the up cone. If you examine the code in the methods and event you should bw able to figure out what the format would be for the rest. I realize i need to update the plan i had due to the fact that things are more complicated than i previously thought. i still how to do it though.

EDIT: removed out old attachment.

Ok, this is what I have so far:

Its not much, but it took hours just to get to this part. What I have is the basic solved Rubik's Cube with all of the stickers on it, vehicled to their specific boxes. The reason it took so long just to make this is because I had to create a LOT of different boxes, set them up into a cube, and then create even more stickers (54 total stickers), each vehicled to the specific block that it is touching.

I have not done any programming that will move the individual squares yet, but I have added arrows to switch views to the different sides. Check it out and tell me if you like how I am doing it so far.

Creating the methods to turn the tiles will be difficult, but I have an idea on how to do it, you will see soon enough (if it works )
