ways to speed it up and reduce file size:

Avoid having too much happening at once - extravagant effects are cool, but if they arent needed then dont use them.

Dont have unnceccessary things happening - avoid having the player one side of the map and all sorts of animations going on everywhere, animations should only happen within range.

Add a pause in infinite loops, even if it is only 0.001 seconds, it will still make a huge difference. Regulate this by having a world variable set to the time it will pause for, then the user can increase this time if they want to try to decrease lag.

Do not have textures stored on every object - if several (or loads) of objects are the same and have the same textures, then only store one set of textures on either one object or globally, then on all of the other objects just set it to the textures on the first object.

Avoid unused methods, disabled tiles and excess comments - all of these are unnecessary, take up save space and more importantly actually take time to process when the world is run (even if they are comments or disabled tiles).

Use lower poly objects, lower quality images and lower quality audio where it will not affect the overall standard of the game - this will save space and put less pressure on the rendering and audio playback processes.

Arty, I did about half the things you said already. Erased over 50 objects. Deleted a bunch of sonuds and animations. Less Methods. Less things going on at once. Unecessary things are gone. I am really shrinking it, but I can keep going. THe game somehow worked for me. Now. What did you mean by the texture thing?

I know you say that, but I managed to fix it quite a lot on my computer by doing some of what I said above. If you post the absolute latest version I can show you.

An Alice world is actually a compressed zip file consisting of many folders, each object is stored as a separate folder. In each object folder is the texture for that object, if you have duplicate textures then there are multiple copies inside taking up space, therefore by only using one copy of the texture you reduce overall file size.

I looked at your code and it seems that between 5.0 and 5.5 you have added lots of what I would have done anyway. I done some more to it, but I dont know if it will decrease lag tremendously, but it certainly makes it more playable.

What I done was stick in many more pauses and replace your pause durations with variables. To decrease the lag I recommend changing the world variable "loop_pause" to 0.01 and "fire_anim_pause" to 0.02. This should make it very playable and not really decrease the quality or efficiency of the playback.

Alright THanks. I dont know is there is anyone who can play this game. Its as good as it can get and I have beaten it. My computer is not very good right now. I might just have to make a Halo 2 with out overdoing it so dont expect AMAZING VISUALS
