At first yes, cause I was approaching it with no knowledge other than Alice's drag and drop interface and a little bit of java
But, I got a few library textbooks, read them front to back, and now I find Objective C to be an extremely versatile language. Simple syntax as well. The only thing I have complaints about is the sometimes tedious memory management; you have to create and destroy things yourself, iPhones can't do what is called "garbage collection" and clean up for you.
If not for Alice though, it would have been much harder to understand the concepts of programming and how to utilize basic data types like strings and booleans and integers.
