Post Big City Adventure - 04-17-2009, 05:54 PM

Big City Adventure is a gta style game and will have misions within. I will make a feature that alows you to continue from certian points. This function will give you a code depending on the items(including weapons, home, and cars owned) you have and misions completed. You will be able to take out people, steal cars, make money(legit or not), walk around, get a home, and run from the cops.
P.S. Help would be greatly apreciated.

Lightbulb Save Points/Checkpoints - 09-21-2009, 10:23 PM

I don't think that it would be possible to make save points so that it would be exactly the same, but you might try having the user click on a object and have a bunch of if/else statements that determine what they have accomplished in the game, such as inventory, missions, etc. It would not work if you closed the game, though, and it would be a ton of if/else statements. However, it probably would work. I haven't tried it though.

Lightbulb Shooting People/Cars - 09-21-2009, 10:27 PM

For people, just do an if/else statement that checks whether a gun is equipped, and then have them keel over. I found that it is easiest to check whether an object isShowing is true or false to check for a gun. For cars, if you wanted more than one shot to destroy them, I think there is a function that allows you to count how many clicks on an object there is, and do things accordingly. You could probably do a similar thing to talk to people, just without a gun equipped.

Too bad, I had some road textures you would've really liked (makes the city terrain look like a Bob Evan's placemat in comparison).
