Display variable contents

I have a game with a variable that is incremented every time a certain event takes place. I would like to display the contents of this variable on the screen as a way of showing the player what their score is. How can I do this?

3d text (its in the library) than you drag in the property window the text = put a "As a string" function in it than drag the variable in it.
