I'm working on a 3d Rubik's cube using vehicles! I'll post on my progress soon!

Cool! I was actually thinking of doing this myself, but haven't started it. Once you make your first prototype I will definitely look it over and see if I can expand on it. I can solve a Rubik's Cube, so I will see if I can solve it on Alice, can't wait.

I've been trying to import a good model, but it just doesn't work. I think I'll use a rubiks cube without animation. Jut have the sides change color and have an array change.

I actually tried this back on Alice 2.0 but the general controls didn't work (I tried to make the mouse control it all), I hope you have better luck than what I had .

Well what I was thinking is just using individual cubes for each of the cubes, and then adding 2d squares on each cube as a sticker. Then you can program it so that when you click on one of the stickers and move down, it puts all of the cubes within that side into a vehicle of the cube of the sticker you clicked on, and then turns it downward moving all of the cubes in that row.

Is it alright if after February Vacation I try to make my own version of it?

Cool i luv rubiks cube! - 03-12-2010, 11:36 AM

i was toying with the idea of making my own rubiks cube (not with alice), but i want to see yours! heres the test. if i can solve it faster than a real one, it is a very good project. i actually made a 2d rubiks cube (not with alice) a while back, but it is non-intuitive to use. it takes me forever.

if you want a real challenge, make a professors cube (5x5x5). or bigger. real life limits the size to 5x5x5 but computers can handle 1000x1000x1000. goto youtube for that video.
