Default More key commands/save - 05-07-2010, 06:55 PM

Id like more key commands like Control, tab, shift, and alt commands would be nice maybe even let w,s,a,d keys control. instead of individual keys.

It would also be nice to be able to save during gameplay and quit the game and restart from where you left off.

Right click and scroll wheel events would also be hugely useful

Everything said here is possible.

For the extra keys you can use the when "any key" is pressed event and get the "key code" from it, which is just the ascii number for that key. Another way is to actually alter the Alice resources source code to get extra button events. I can make key press events for almost any key.

The saving is very easily possible with jython. You can make it save text to file or you can even have the world preserved after it is stopped, so it doesnt reset to how it was before it was played.

The mouse clicking and scroll wheels should be possible with java events in jython. I havent tested this yet, but I see no reason why it shouldnt work. I have the code to grab the render frame from the play window, so a simple java event should be easily applyable to it.

I have mostly moved on from Alice, but may still respond to messages if important [¬º-°]¬

Can you make a tutorial for Jython?
