Default Final project help - too many objects? - 12-04-2008, 08:03 AM

I am making a world for my final project with many objects (around 50) in it. When I click the add objects button my screen gets all mesed up so I can no longer add new objects to this world. I am wondering if I can have a part two to a world, or a second world that will know what happend in the previous world so that I may continue. Or, actually, any other solutions you can think of. Thanks!

This is odd and has never happened to me before. I made a massive movie called War Zone and it had to have more than 50 objects in it. Instead of adding an object to the world, try copying it. Go to "add objects" at the top right, there are a bunch of buttons that allow you to move the object in a more customizable way. Click on the copy button and then drag a copy of one of the items that you want (that is already in the world) and it should work. Of course this only works if you want to make an object that has already been put into the world. Let me create a world with more than 50 objects and see if I get the same problem as you.

Nope, I put 77 objects in and it still allowed me to add objects. It might be a problem with your computer trying to run alice. It might not be powerful enough.

The problem is most likely a lack of memory. While chris101b's War Zone will run on my newer machine, it won't run on my older machine - and the failure mode is that the screen "gets messed up."
