Default Alice Competition Hosted by CS2N - 02-13-2012, 10:25 AM

The CS2N is hosting an Alice competition open to all ages. Deadline: May 6th 2012.

Competition Link: http://www.cs2n.org/competitions/AAC022012

Version
Although the site has tutorials and refers to Alice 3, you are also welcome to use Alice 2.2.

Peer Review
You will be required to review other submissions and provide feedback. More information about that can be answered at http://www.cs2n.org/competitions/AAC022012

Requirements
Your submission will have to meet specific guidelines. It will need to adhere to the following requirements:
  • The animation must be an Alice file.
  • The animation should NOT have any interaction (the user must be able to view the story by only clicking Run).
  • The animation should be between 30 - 60 seconds in length.
  • No copyrighted material may be used.
  • Only one animation may be submitted per user.

Judging Criteria
Your submission will be evaluated on these criteria:
  • The submission precisely meets the technical requirements and aligns with the theme (recycle, reduce, replenish, restore, reuse, etc.).
  • The submission contains three parts of a story (beginning, middle and end).
  • Animation timing is appropriate.
  • The background and set support the story and are interesting.
  • Most procedures have a logical purpose, with explanatory comments that are easy to understand.

Who is CS2N?

Default Question about Version of Alice - 02-13-2012, 02:56 PM

Judging by the download link on the CS2N website, Alice 3.0 is the required version for submission? Or will Alice 2.2 projects suffice?

Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your question.

We are making adjustments based on user feedback. The short amount of submission time was in question.

If anyone has any suggestions or questions, feel free to comment in this forum or email me at lreynolds@rec.ri.cmu.edu.

Thanks!
-Luke
