Can I Play Games From Flash Drive?

If I buy a game like Battlefield 2 and install everything on it to my flash drive, can I just bring my flash drive to a different computer (like a school computer) and successfully play the game on there? Or does it also save something on the computer I install it on that makes it so that I can only play on that computer? Or will it install settings specifically for the specifications on my computer, causing an error when I try to play on a computer with different specifications?

I want to know if I can bring good full games to school to play after school in the library.

NOTE:
I have Windows Vista
School has Windows XP
Both computers meet minimum requirements

Theoretically, yes, though I'm not entirely sure, how just yet.

Ok thanks, I also searched google for it but I found so many stupid links about illegal downloading and downloading xbox games and stuff. I just want to buy a game and download it on a flash drive and play it anywhere.
