Halo - models
 
This is the last point of the halo game. I cant finish it until i have model. Please. Can someone find a model of the covenant. I need a Brute, or Elite or Grunt. SOMEONE!

What he means is can someone find him this stuff already converted to Alice format, properly textured,and cut into subparts.

The Grunt and Elite look good, but the Brute is a little weird and not what it looks like in Halo Reach. I can't convert them so you would have to find someone else to.

[SIZE="2"]I've successfully converted one of the elite models, and thanks to the teachings of x2495jjjj the mystical penguin, have reoriented the pivot points for you.

However, while the pivots are in the right place, they will not turn like you would expect them too. That does not mean the pivots are messed up, they are just oriented slightly differently. You'll see what I mean.

And oh yeah, [SIZE="3"]DON'T FORGET TO GIVE CREDIT!!![/SIZE]

As for the grunt, it's a little too high-poly (22,000, I believe). Not so much that Alice can't handle it, but still too high I think, for it to be used in such a detailed game as yours.

I'll see either later today or tom. about the brute.
EDIT: Brute's too high poly as well (32,000).

Also, x2495iiii, if you know how to cut objects into subparts, could ya let me in on that? Judging from past posts, few people (zenteo, come back!) have accomplished this successfully.

Wait, does that mean you didn't cut the elite into subparts? Isn't that kind of a requirement to be used in games and such?

And as for cutting into subparts, I'm positive I already taught you that at some point.

Also, it turns out that exactly what zenteo did, I was able to do with that one "Almost got it" or whatever post. I converted a masked policeman type guy. I thought it was wrong since the backs of his arms and elbows seemed to easy to expose as hollow, but zenteo's two models are actually the same way.

The problem is I really don't like doing it.

I did cut it into subparts, but it just isn't as organized as being able to nest them.
As of right now, it's just like your "almost got it" policeman, but I wanted to be able to nest them.

Every time I try (I've even went in and messed with the elementData and whatnot), it turns out an error (not a valid a2c file) when I import (or try to import) into Alice.[/SIZE]

Make the subparts parents of each other. Just hold shift (or ctrl, can't quite recall), right click two subparts, then go to Object>Make Parent and it should work.

I think ctrl-p or something along those lines does the same thing when you're in object view.

The way they are grouped is kind of weird, though it is highly likely that it's because of the order/way I'm grouping them. At least I know that it works; I just have to experiment to see in what order I should group them.

Hey, does anyone have any covenant weapons? All i have is the Fuel rod and thats not what the elites use, the greunts use that. Does anyone got anything?

Yes X. I know too, and i have the weapons pack, but they arent covenant models. The Sword wont do either. I have the spartan laser, assult rifle, and sniper rifle, but no covenant stuff....

[SIZE="2"]Just to brag/give an update, I got a textured spartan model, complete with functional subparts to a great degree (there are subparts for each "segment" of each finger"-however I must admit that those pivots may be off; everything else has the pivot in the right place).

The meshes you see are me being lazy and not naming the finger parts.[/SIZE]

[SIZE="2"]I fixed up the spartan's fingers; I went in Blender and put in each pivot point for each individual finger segment, and the result is a fully poseable Halo spartan model.

I'll see if I can find low-poly pelican and grunt models, but I can't guarantee as I may not have enough time to do the searching/converting.

EDIT: That grunt model turned out an error when I tried exporting as .ase, but I found another one, that's even more low-poly so takes up less memory, without sacrificing much quality.

Oh my goodness. This is great. The Halo Game will be finished!!!!By the way....for all the fans that are excited about it.....I just finished the end sequence. All thats left is collisions and some enemies. THAT IS ALL!!

One slight problem is that only the forearms and the calves are subparts; you can't manipulate the upper arm and thighs due to the nature of the model.

Hopefully that won't interfere with the game.

eh. It gets a little lagged but not enough to ruin the game. The Model works fine. I tweeked it to the best it could do..What else do ya got!

Hey Uh...Just one more thing. Can you get me a nice looking Antena from Halo or the Reach version. Its a tall stick with a large base and kinda squarish base
