I tried uploading a world into alice and I got this message:

"Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing.

If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error."

What's that supposed to mean?

I think it means that it thinks your world is hacked. Weird.

so what do I do?

You might just need to make a brand new world or find a backup :/

Using a backup didn't work, so I'm going to have to make a whole new world.

Its supposed to mean refresh the page, or log out and log back in if that doesn't work. Your world is absolutely fine, just the session cookie in your web browser ran out before you decided to upload.

Is your world over 20 MB? The site won't allow uploading worlds that are too big.
