Just to say

Alice is annoying.

I made this world fine, I was saving it as multiple files, just in case Alice crashed while saving (so I would have slightly older files to go back to if the newest one wouldnt load, I do this because the automatic backup files it saves are saved at the worst places).

After it was almost fully complete (I never closed Alice once while making it up to that point) I saved it again. Alice had been saving and loading files fine.

Then I restarted Alice, tried to load the snowmobile reaction worlds. None of my files for it would load. Obviously something had been wrong with Alice while it had been open earlier.

It said there were several things called index in it and that wasn't allowed, there could only be one. This was the fault of Alice and not me.

I decided not to just give up.

I opened a copy of the a2w file in winRAR
I searched for the string index
It came up with loads of files
I guessed it had something to do with the child files, or whatever it said
This narrowed it down to about 7 files, or something similar
I located all the results
I needed to change all the words that said index in the two element data xml files, then rename the folder, all to a different word to index, but the same word for the three files
I had to give all the different results different names
Then I saved it
I opened it in Alice
SUCCESS!!!!!!!!
This wouldn't have been neccessary if Alice had just worked:eek:

This is why the download file above has B on the end of it, it is the fixed file

Ok it was fun at first but I literally had to shut this game down because of that horribly screeching noise that happens when you run over the person. I really hate that noise, its so weird and loud! If you could, please change that.

Also the camera angle is very misleading, you should have the camera right in the center of the track instead of over to the right a little bit. The camera also goes down sometimes, not letting you see what is ahead of you, I don't like that, it is fine to move the camera like you do, but don't move it directly behind the snowmobiler. I gave it a 4/5.

Right, well I will add some other camera angles because some other people I tested it on felt the camera was too far to the left, not the right, so I will try to accomodate for both.

The angle the fences are at makes it look slightly more to the right, but that makes no difference to the actual play area and boundaries, I will try and fix the fences

I know the sound is quite annoying, I will try to find a repacement, but its the calmest sound I've got in my screaming sounds pack. Its not half as bad as the sound when you crash your plane in the example flight simulator world.

The camera is that low to make it harder, but if you find it too hard I will include a higher camera in the other angles.

Thanks for the feedback

What a great, imaginative game and just in time for the Olympics!! Well done!

The design was well thought out, the coding was great, and the ability for the user to customize the settings was just an added bonus!!

A very well conceived, pre-planned and executed piece of coding!! :)

thats really cool BUT. if you didnt notice if you go all the way to the right you will not get hit by anyone. and just every now and then go left and get a capsule. so maby ad another person or whatever you have to do.

I had the volume turned up on loud when I first played the little flight simulator.
