Mama

I thought I'd put this out to you all, but Mama supports not only the simple creation of 3D models in its built in modelling software, but also the import of wavefront (.obj) objects. Also with a simple, easily available plugin, as I have just worked out, Mama supports the import of .3ds files and a number of other formats.

Mama is definitely a choice alternative to Alice. Much more stable as well, though the format is slightly different than Alice and will require a bit more learning.

yeh

I agree. If only it could export as an alice world. Im just saying this as I realised how easy it is to add plugins to the 3D modeller built in, so the stupid laborious proccess of converting files for Alice is so much simpler in Mama.
Im getting so annoyed right now as I built a model in sketchup which I would like to export with supbarts and textures (I can normally do it fine using your method), but there are so many things to find and replace in the ase this time file that its just pointless.
