Loads of objects, all sorted and with icons for your gallery

I have took loads of objects (117 objects) from the community and sorted them into subfolders (8 categories) in a community folder, then took a suitable screenshot of every single object and added an icon into it for a preview (like how you can preview objects in the object gallery when you go to add one in Alice).

To add all these objects to your gallery so its easy to get them into your worlds just download it http://www.mediafire.com/?9u5lg3n9k5p8n9k then locate your gallery folder ( wherever you installed Alice\Alice 2.2\Required\gallery) and unzip this into it. Then it should be there.

If you don't know where that folder is then post so below and I will add a little world that will run a python script and print out the location of the folder. EDIT - I did make one - here .

Excellent! How long did this take you? This is extremely useful, arty. Thank you very much for posting this.

arty-fishL 08-19-2010 05:26 PM

Thanks for good comments. It took me quite a while actually, but its worth it.

Nice work.

x2495iiii 08-19-2010 05:39 PM

I figured as much. It took me around 15-20 minutes to get the ones I got done.

I just wanted you to feel that this was worth it. There's nothing that's more disappointing to an artist than to feel his work was for nothing.

Thanks again.

Who made the "tILES FOR LETTERS 2" object? Whoever you are, you rock with a rockyness that's hard to describe without saying rock a lot. That's just what I was going to use for my game map. This saves me an immense amount of work, thanks a million!

arty-fishL 08-19-2010 06:22 PM

I made that in sketchup for a word proccessing thing, figured that it might be useful to somebody, looks like it is. Thanks :D

Oh boy, animated GIF! These explosions are going to be fun to work with!! (Kefka laugh)

...Some of those people are off-center, though.

Yeah, that explosion is pretty cool. It's too bad no one posted it before.

Got to say, though, whoever converted that for use in Alice is pretty cool, eh?

How did you make it so that the squares export as singular subparts that don't tile their photo textures repeatedly when in Alice?

arty-fishL 08-20-2010 03:50 AM

I exported as a google earth (.kmz) file, extracted the contents, converted the dae model inside it in blender, went through the laborious proccess of removing all of the periods from inside the ase file, then imported it.
That always produces subparts (on one level only) and correct textures, usually it lowers the polys too.

Also I got the explosion from SB, so kudos to you anyway.
