Awards for Great Games and Animations?
 

What do you think about awards for great games/animations? Or something like the Oscars stating the best of the game produced here? Would this cause competition, or would people be more inclined to make games?

I second that, and nominate zero00 for the Sky Warrior series.

A bunch of madden's stuff deserves one

Chris101b's warzone is probably one of the best animations

And Dameria deserves two for the ice map with full collision detection

I nominate Arty-FishL's "Mouse Maze Mania" and Jediaction's "Halo."

All right can somebody think of a way to make awards, I have 2 ideas on how to do this: Put a picture on the thread, or make a group with people that made the best games and a thread in there linking toi the thread for their game. details later. Ideas for this? Also albums with titles?

And yes, both definately.

No offense to jedi, but his Halo game doesn't deserve a reward quite yet. If it's unplayable it shouldn't get any nominations. His Halo 2 sounds promising though, he mentioned something to me that I don't know much about, but he says it will definately help and suprise a lot of people here. Or something along those lines.

We should have different awards, like 'longest-lasting game' or 'best shooter' for nominations, and than we vote with a poll.

I thought the same thing.

Also, I like the different awards idea. InsertName, I can create a poll, if you need one.

I'll need help figuring on how to do this?

sounds cool. Are we going to create an indivisual thread with a poll for each award? Than announce the winners here? I already have some ideas. Plus the fact that 2011 is almost over helps when it comes to the 2011 award.

So far my thoughts are:

Best FPS/Zombie Game - Resident Penguin
Longest lasted Game - Sky Warrior II, with 216 different ways to play ;D
Best Next Version of a Game - Dj Techs Flight Simulator Version 7 (patch after my review that fixed most issues, every game dev should do that)
Best Game In the Alice Forums 2011 - Sky Warrior II
