This release of Alice for Linux is more a proof-of-concept than an official release. There are lots of bugs which we are working to fix. With that said, we encourage you to download it and test it and report bugs via the built-in Alice bug report tool. If there are any showstoppers that demand attention, feel free to email me at alice-admin@cs.cmu.edu with information on how to reproduce the bug and a link to your bug report. When submitting a report, it is very important that you include the Linux distribution you are running.

We have tested this out on Fedora Core 5 and a custom version of Fedora Core 2. If you get it to work (or not work) on a different distribution of Linux, please let us know!

Requirements:

Java 1.5 VM (For our distribution of Linux, Fedora Core 5, we used this tutorial to install: http://www.fedorafaq.org/#java.)
